Here is a small preview of a baptism that I photographed on Sunday at St. John Fisher. I love the little girl who is so entranced, watching her newest cousin get baptised! ~mlr

Portraits on the fly

 

You never know what pictures you will end up with when you shoot quickly and in a rather unattractive setting.  These children were all bundled up for the cold when they came to visit me at my photo show, but they were completely charming and obviously accustomed to having their pictures taken.  So, I pointed them toward the wall of windows to take advantage of the light, took about ten pictures and got some really good ones!  I cropped out as much of the unattractive background as possible (cinder blocks - yuck).  Their mom was thrilled with the photos - and that is all that really matters! ~mlr

Beverly Arts Center

Yesterday, Rick and I met with Alice McMahon White at the Beverly Arts Center.  We hung 24 of my Irish images for the upcoming exhibit, "In the Deep Heart's Core: Ireland by Chicago Artists."  Although the exhibit officially opens on Friday, February 27, most of the art work is already hanging throughout the public spaces of the BAC.

In addition to my own photography, you will also see art work by Keelan McMorrow, Mary Phelan, and Robert Johnson.  Alice McMahon White will be exhibiting photos and pastel landscapes.

Visit the first floor hallway near the theater entrance, the Atrium on the first floor, and the second floor hallway outside the gallery to see all the wonderful images of Ireland.
